Lake Bogoria is a stunning alkaline Rift Valley lake located in Baringo County, about 170 km (3–4 hours) northwest of Nairobi. It’s famous for its spectacular geysers and hot springs, abundant flamingo populations, and unique wildlife habitats. The lake lies within the Lake Bogoria National Reserve, a protected area known for its rich biodiversity, especially birdlife. Its mineral-rich waters and geothermal activity make it one of Kenya’s most dramatic natural landscapes, combining volcanic features, colorful hot springs, and vast flocks of pink flamingos that often gather along the shores.
