Nairobi National Park is a unique wildlife reserve located just 7 kilometers (about 4 miles) from Nairobi’s city center, making it one of the world’s only national parks bordering a capital city. Established in 1946, the park covers approximately 117 square kilometers (45 square miles) of savannah grassland, acacia woodland, and wetlands. Despite its proximity to urban Nairobi, the park boasts a remarkable variety of wildlife, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and rhinos. It is also a crucial sanctuary for the endangered black rhinoceros. The backdrop of Nairobi’s skyline combined with roaming wild animals creates an extraordinary and unforgettable landscape.
